15 April
received my first present of the year.
a Bakerzin cake from my boss... followed by telling me to come back for OT the next day.
what could be worse?
16 April
after a day's OT, i attended Darren's farewell dinner at NYDC, Holland V together with Vj, KT, Beng, Chia Chang, Benson and Seng Lee.
the session ended in laughter and well-wishes.
later on, NeuNeu sent me to the not-so-secret hideout "小桥流水.. 哗啦啦", after the first exam paper, joining the rest of his classmates - Lynn, Yanee, Angie, Corinne, Alex, Julian and Vincent.
i didn't bring my PSP along that night so i tuned in to the MP3s on my phone while they mugged for the final paper on Friday.
he wrapped up around 10pm so that Corinne can take a lift home
(poor her had to work the next morning).
17 April
instead of sleeping when he reached home, he typed late into the night and continued when he woke up the next day until it was time to send me home for a change of clothes.
hurry scurry.
changed and grabbed my stuff when i got home, then headed out for lunch and to pick Julian up at Pasir Ris.
it was "小桥流水.. 哗啦啦" yet again.
more mugging, chatting and stress until NeuNeu sent Julian off to the nearest MRT station. i stayed behind to play PSP and chat with the rest. wasn't sure how long he was away coz i was too engaged in my game.
he returned.
with a cake.
after silly poses for the cammie, a birthday song, and cake-cutting, they returned to their books.
soon it was time for us to leave and meet Liz/Wei for dinner.
drove up to Anchorpoint to meet them before heading out separately to Suntec for the meal.
he suggested driving to the Singapore Flyers for a walk after dinner, and the couple spontaneously agreed.
i didn't notice anything unusual as there wasn't any queue for the tickets that night, but got to know later on that they've actually pre-booked the seats prior to our visit!
couldn't catch the sunset as the skies had already turned dark by the time we arrived.
the only consolation was that i didn't have my camera with me anyway.
the ride ended approximately 30 minutes later and we all thought KTV was a good idea.
so there we were back at Suntec City's KBox.
singing, chatting, and alas, another cake when the clock struck 12.
it was a wonderful celebration (minus the soprano plus alto plus bass version of the birthday song).
returned to our vehicles in the carpark after the session to unveil the present from Liz/Wei.
i headed straight for the backseat where i placed the large parcel nicely wrapped in My Melody/Kuromi wrapping paper.
EVERYTHING'S MY MELODY - desktop handphone holder, photo frame, purse, lanyard and even the greeting card!
thanks once again for the thoughtful gift, babe!
and when we bade goodbye, all about to leave...
lo and behold, i spotted a bouquet of pink roses resting on my seat.
the first bouquet i got was before our trip to KL in December '06,
the second was in July last year when we were in Da Lat, Vietnam,
and this, is the third bouquet from NeuNeu.
i was overwhelmed.
almost driven to tears.
perhaps things are indeed taking a turn for the better for me or so it seems.
unfortunately, Wei thinks forgetting the cashcard was a pretty cliched excuse but maybe forgetting to lock the car isn't as good too.
he intended to continue studying after sending me home but i think the rest of the people had already left by then, and thus he went home to rest.
18 April
dragged myself off the bed to meet mr hu for impromptu prayers in the noon.
had our late lunches at Sakae Sushi in Citylink with compliments from Hoochie.
utter disappointment when i heard that Ruby's photo at Peninsular doesn't have expired film anymore too.
seems like no other shops are selling these stuff anymore
(please let me know if u know of any, PLEASE!)
headed over to Plaza Singapura where Hoochie took the bus to work and i waited for everyone to finish their exam papers.
bad news.
tsk tsk.
2 persons were caught cheating and asked to leave the exam hall.
loitered around a bit and went home for dinner.
had my third cake cut when everyone in the family got home.
yes, the cake given by the boss.
washed up quickly afterwards and met Corinne, Charles, Stella and Jason for KTV at International Building.
oh, Jason had his birthday just a day before on the 17th.
anyways, the 'feeling-ful" singing sent chills down my spine and i wonder how Stella could put up with all the nonsense :P
the crooning ended around 11pm and we hopped on the train to meet Angie, Zen, Vincent and his wife for movie at VivoCity.
caught the Forbidden Kingdom.
yes, the one with the all-but-one Chinese cast speaking weird accented English and quoting directly translated names for all the Kungfu moves.
i don't know how "Buddha Palm" or "Shadowless Kick" sound to u, but it sure tickled me.
kudos to Vincent who sent us all home after the show.
and a Happy Belated Birthday to him coz his birthday was on the 22nd.
did my last-last minute packing (actually... i was frantically stuffing everything i can find), hit the sack just before 3am, and woke up by 5am to get to the airport for our flight to Bangkok.
forgot to top up in my previous post on the trip, i bumped into Jen on the second day while we were at MBK for dinner. such a pleasant coincidence.
we haven't seen each other since last year's gathering with Qing.
ought to be catching up again soon, as promised!
