i am loved.

amidst tight schedule packed with work, classes, last minute ops, visits for CNY.
amidst upset plans, worn out minds, tired bodies.

today marks our 4th.

a turbulent month. petty arguments. upset moods. unkind words. roller coaster rides.
deepened relationships. heightened understanding. narrowed differences.

a common frequency.

ur love.
an unconditional love for my family, put in action, supercedes all love many have spoken of.

hearty laughters have found their way back unto me unknowingly.
u put the smile back in me.

a wrinkled but happy me.

5 cents' worth

every wrong turn in life is a lesson learnt. the wisdom gained will help u do better the next time.

life is full of second chances.
be willing to take them!
let go of the past n commit to do whatever it takes to get back on the right track.

do not rush into things.
make choices because u want to, not because u have to.

listen to ur heart.
it holds the secret to ur happiness n the key to ur success.

good luck, my friend

back at work II

yeah, back at work again.
busy, busy, busy.

finally some peace after the 2nd backup tape has been changed. happily at work in my sneakers after yesterday's painful lesson. special credits to NeuNeu for rushing home after work at 4am to send me comfy slippers when i knock off. as usual, we both slept like nobody's business on our way home i.e. on the train.

being a pig, i resumed my sleep once i reached home, whilst he had to rush his assignment. he even helped mommy ribbon-ized n hung up the cabbage n leek we bought from the market. they seemed to be very happy doing these weird stuff early in the morning. anyway, i wonder how he managed to survive without sleeping for the past 2 days n he still did not sleep till we had dinner at 4pm or so when i hogged the computer to play MapleStory.

yeah, i'm back with MapleStory to kill time on my off days.
don't u force me to play Gunbound, i bite (i'm sure u know that full-well. muahaha.)

2 more days to go till i get to rest again.
now n then, i seem to be getting bouts of fever n running nose. NeuNeu seems to be falling sick too. the lunar new year's been tough with the tight schedule n work. time for some good rest soon.

holy cow, i just realized i have yet to touch my CCNA books for the past 1 month!

*shakes head n sighs*

back at work

a little disappointed today coz NeuNeu was recalled today at a last minute n our plan to have dinner at Dover has to be postponed again. after sending him to Boon Lay, i took the direct bus to office. despite the dinner n snacks he bought to appease the disgruntled me, i still grumbled about carrying the heavy stuff to work in heels. actually, he already told me the nature of his job in the new team, but i guess it's still hard accept the fact that I DON'T GET TO EAT THE YUMMY FOOD!!! alright. i'm a glutton.

here's a picture of a dead-tired NeuNeu.

was out at Loyang Tua Pek Gong temple to offer prayers to the "Tai Sui" on Thursday after NeuNeu's work ended in the morning around 6am. becoz i was still sleeping, he went to the market with mommy n returned with breakfast for me. i'm still recovering from the sleep deficiency after the first 3 days of the lunar new year.

ya right.

i always liked visiting during chinese new year. the eating, chattering n getting together. but eversince my grandma passed away, there hasn't been much gatherings back in the familiar little fishing village. not to mention that it's almost impossible to celebrate with the entire family becoz they're either overseas n there's simply too many of them to gather (my gramps have 12 children n each child has an average of 3 kids, of which some already have their own kids. that probably adds up to like a whooping figure of 60-odd members in my family.) fortunately, i did manage to catch up with some of them this year. NeuNeu brought me to a couple of family gatherings as well n it was really nice to see a tiny flat warmed up with endless chattering by the many members of the family.

i really miss new year at my gramps.

on a different note altogether. Melis returned from the States for a short visit last week. managed to catch up with her n the guys on Friday night at Bedok Blk 85. the food wasn't good n we broke into many uncomfortable silences. guess it's really been quite awhile since we've all met up. Ping initiated a karaoke session, but it's a pity i couldn't attend as i had to rush over to my aunt's place with NeuNeu coz mommy wanted us to accompany her, plus Melis had to be home to pack for her flight on Sunday morning.

so i was back at my aunt's with NeuNeu gambling till late night before walking home with mommy. before we know it, we had to wake up to meet Jay n Alecia for a movie in Suntec City. we were terribly late n reached around 12noon instead of 11am, as agreed with Jay. well, the movie started only at 1pm. anyway n we had to queue for like 45minutes to get the tickets from the reception (oh, it was sponsored by SPCG so the rest of the SPCG folks were there as well) did i mention that we got free nachos, popcorn, drinks n chocs too? yeah, we did.

the final program for the week was.. well, u've guessed it.. gambling again. this time at NeuNeu godma's house. but not before we queued for the lottery at the renowned betting station nearby. NeuNeu is lying when he claims he doesn't gamble. even mommy sniggers everytime he says that.

most importantly, the last note of the day.. yes, NeuNeu fell asleep in the cinema AGAIN!!!

Chinese New Year Day II

back at work i am. back from gathering, eating, chatting, gambling. a shared venture with NeuNeu in blackjack accumulated a positive profit of 50-odd buckaroos when i left, but the latest update didn't sound promising. speaking of which, i left hurriedly with his phone in my bag. two muddle-headed don't add up to an alert pair.

herhrr.

managed to rush to the office slightly after 7pm. thank goodness for the red packets collected, else i'd be totally broke with all the travelling in taxis. took a cab to NeuNeu's house in the morn after work, then one to Jay's house n another to NeuNeu uncle's house.. foresee that i will take the cab again tomorrow after work n to work again in the evening..

a quick shoutout to the darling who is still fighting hard on the mahjong table:
"Baby, u must win more money to pay for our online purchases!!!"

Chinese New Year

after some last minute shopping in the morning, my family n i met up with NeuNeu again at night for the countdown at Chinatown. though we weren't viewing the show from the best position, we did manage to catch the fireworks.

need i say more?
jam-packed lanes, squeezed n squashed, sticky bodies rubbing shoulders, last-last minute shopping.

finally headed home after our first prayers at the Guan Yin Temple in Waterloo Street (also known as "Si Ma Lu")

My Valentine

i did not probe further when he told not to buy a cheongsam. i presumed he DOES mind the past afterall. thus even after trying on a couple of the chinese dresses, i did not purchase any of it.

.. that was our Saturday at Far East, prior to Alex's birthday ..

yesterday, we went to Sheng Siong with his mommy to stock up some last minute CNY groceries. i ended up with loads of instant noodles, cereals, biscuits for myself. the happiest person is of course, mommy, except when we discovered the foodcourt had closed before we managed to buy dinner home. i was content with the instant noodles Mr Ma promised to cook for me when we return home.

so we headed home in a cab with hundreds of dollars worth of goodies.

i was forced to help him with his assignment plus wash the dishes after dinner. i even got locked out of his room.
*sulks*

after letting me in, he then suspiciously sent me 2 bluetooth messages n slipped out of the room. the first 2 messages contained a voice clip each n the 3rd read: "Open up the blanket now.. I love you." the bulge under the blanket bears a striking resemblance to the hantu in Ju-On (The Grudge) plus Mr Ma always likes to scare me with his freaky antics thus i took extra caution in removing the blanket sitting on the bed.

it was a glittering red box in the shape of a heart.

being a glutton, i only noticed the Ferrero Rochers sitting within on a pretty white doily, amongst shiny confetti. yep, if u're a wee-bit smarter than yours truly, u'd have guessed by now what was lying beneath the yummies.

a cheongsam.

An Anti-Valentine's Message

Milestone

some time last week, we had a bad stint.

it was terrible.
but it's over.

u're still as awfully sweet as before.
we have great big plans ahead ya...

bits of last week

there has been quite a few births in the office recently. makes the atmosphere feel really cozy n happy. Vijay had his 2nd baby boy last month followed by Gerald & Deborah's 1st baby boy, Nathaniel, just early this week. Deborah also happens to be NeuNeu's cousin. such coincidence.

anyways, we popped by Botanic Gardens after visiting Deborah. yeah, that's where we got our idea for the present on Alex's birthday which was celebrated on Saturday.

Muahaha.

skiving

stealing a moment off during my night shift to post a little update.

seems like the fad of blogging is somehow dying off, slowly but surely. been popping by a handful of blogs only to realize most of them "deserted". that trims down surf-able sites during night shifts. herhrr.

the lunar new year is approaching. nothing much done except for some goodies-making last week at home. the first time we actually made something for chinese new year. thanks to a sweet one who suggested n took the initiative to prepare all the stuff necessary. yet another custom that appears to be slowly forsaken by the young n modern. anyway, mommy seems to be pretty hyped up n even told me she'll be making more stuff when it draws nearer to the festive. guess cold nights in the office wouldn't be so cold afterall, considering all the heart-warming goodies prepared for me this year.

a passing thought of getting a cheongsam for this lunar new year brought about fresh new pains of unspeakable memories that happened not more than a year ago.

special thanks to the warm, familiar voice that helped me pull through on the many unbearable nights.
