i simply CANNOT wait

as some of u know, i've recently re-watched the Disney's classic version of Alice in Wonderland.

i love the wabbit, and the caterpillar.
i love the the Mad Hatter, and the cheshire cat - which was pretty annoying.
in fact most of the characters are really annoying. haha.

and i read on the papers this morning that...
Tim B.'s gonna release his version of the grown-up 17 year old Alice!

well, expectedly JD stars as part of the cast. the Mad Hatter. (as seen on left)
Helen Bonham Carter as the Red Queen and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen.
the creepy Professor Snape (Alan Rickman) will play The Caterpillar. yummy.

i simply CANNOT wait. 9 months for this baby to be out.

for now, read more about the movie

Getaway

at 4 in the morning, i'm extremely exhausted but can't fall asleep. just great.

the stress is going to blow through my limits.
our 2nd appointment's been delayed.

i've been calling the HDB office repeatedly and greeted by a chirpy voice that says:
"Your call is being answered by Audix"
yea, i hope Audix can also answer my queries so that all the lazy bummers and procrastinators in the Resale Office can be fired. bah.

at one point, i think i went mad, and actually got angry at the Audix voice for being so chirpy.
WHAT THE HELL IS THERE TO BE SO HAPPY ABOUT?!
*clears throat and returns to sanity*

all in all, i need a short break.
a getaway.

ruled out Bangkok since we've already agreed not to go this year after at least 4 visits within the last 3 years.

let's see what we have here...
A. Port Dickson
B. Batam
C. Some other beach resorts like Redang or a day-trip to Desaru perhaps?

Pig-Out

spent most of this week home.
eating in, sleeping in, staying in almost the ENTIRE week.
and i wasn't allowed to join in for the Mongolian BBQ lunch on Monday.
*sulkkkk*

after the last half-day of mr ma's course on Wednesday, he fetched his mom home from the hospital (after 3-day stay from her gallstones removal operation).
by the time he came over at around 3pm, after finishing the household chores... actually only 1 chore - do the laundry, i was famished and upset.

i not like to be hungry!
i cooked my instant noodles and decided to ignore him and go to sleep.

woke up by 8pm, feeling hungry yet again... and even more upset plus bored.
so i made him drive us to Mustafa for a walk, then over to Geylang for supper.
instead of having the agreed frog's legs porridge, i decided to go for the stir-fried beef hor fun (干炒牛河) and he took the seafood version 干炒什锦河. yummo.

turned in around 2am, and woke up to a delicious stir-fried bee hoon (for me) and mee goreng (for mr ma) in the kitchen the following morning.
read the papers and i hit the sack again for more sleep.
just about 1pm, i got up, packed my room a bit and we headed off for JB. along the way to Jusco, we stopped by a couple of furniture stores for a quick peek.

after dropping in on the shops within Jusco, we took a break at Baskin Robbins.

and yes, i finally get my ice-cream!!!
*salivate*

2 yummylicious scoops - Cherry Jubilee & Mint Choc Chip in our chocolate-dipped waffle bowl, topped with whipped cream and cherry.

afterwards, i packed some Cheesy wedges from KFC before we left. feeling sinful, but not enough to stop me after a 2-week ban on junk food.

whilst, the rest of this week was supposedly promised to be a guilt-free binge-eating period, mr ma suddenly came up to be a little unwell from the swelling of his gum (most likely caused by his wisdom tooth). so till his operation to get it out, which is next Sunday, i foresee the chances for more food adventure to be slim. ho hum.

i shall look forward to fishing & co day with the girls on Monday or Tuesday instead then!

priced at $899 (PC Show 2009).
it really is a pretty good deal, isn't it?

i decided to forgo lappies because;
firstly, it really isn't as expandable as i wish it to be.
secondly, it'll probably melt within a year considering the duration of my usage
my last 2 motherboards were burnt, and adding additional fan didn't seem to remedy the problem. oops.
lastly, it's got this huge-ass monitor which i can't resist!

but of course, space and portability are a bonuses but i figured they can't outweigh the PROs for me.
now, let's get down to playing The Sims 3...

Damage: Uncontrollable

officially declared bankrupt over the weekend.

Back at Work

finally back at work after a week's rest from throat inflammation and fever.
Kenny says it's probably tonsils inflammation, but the doctor didn't mention anything about it.
he was more afraid that i'll infect him and my colleagues. bla.

i've abstained from "heaty" food and talking/shouting for a week, but cough and phlegm still persists. boo.
mr ma has been on course for about 2 weeks, and we haven't met since the trip on Sunday.
being too engrossed in my farming on Facebook's Farm Town and re-starting my Harvest Moon game on PSP, had he not call just now, i would've almost completely forgotten about him!

he offered to bring food to office for me, but it wasn't necessary coz mommy already prepared a lot of snacks for me to bring to work. i've got finger-sized salad sandwich rolls, fried bee hoon, cut apple slices... and snack-size cereals and milk, which i bought some time back.
he says that in any case, i can still call 1900-Call-MaMa if i need urgent delivery. LOL.

first night shift after a month. and suddenly, i can't get used to night shifts.
so schneepy now...

Day trip to Kota Tinggi

since the prawning session was off, mr ma and i had a wee bit of free time by ourselves.

as mr ma is currently on course,
he will be offsite for 3 weeks.
but because of this, he hasn't had time to do the monthly paperwork. thus, he took the opportunity to return to office to clear up his stuff while i waited outside in the car.

by the time he finished, it was approximately 11am and we decided to have a quick breakfast in JB before embarking on a short drive to Kota Tinggi.

the drive took about an hour whilst the traffic jam got us stuck for almost 2 hours. dang, we should've remembered it's the start of school holidays already!

in any case, the vicinity was crowded with both locals and Singaporeans.
we figured we'll just drive by again during off-peak periods the next time.

took a dip in the water for a bit then headed back to Jusco for a light dinner.
since i'm still sick, i had porridge AGAIN.

Weakend Weekend

i've been sick since last week, starting off with sore throat.
thinking it's just another case of sinus-related throat problem, i still went off to work on Wednesday.

i could feel my energy draining off thus turned in at 9 o'clock without dinner.
the throat felt worse that very night (perhaps after too much of phone calls during the day),
and i woke up fever around 1am.

called in sick the next few days. continuously spotted blots of blood in my sputum
and it's been 6 days since the series of sorethroat-fever-cough, but my voice has yet to recover.
ho hum.
mr ma accompanied me to another doctor yesterday night, but there was no antibiotics prescribed. hmm..

in any case, on a different note, first blood was drawn for the GSS.
we were out on a "bed & bedlinen" hunt in Courts Tampines and Centrepoint Robinsons.
after testing out no less than a dozen of mattresses, we finally settled for a Serta "Perfect Day" mattress.

upon placing the deposit of $1400 for our Queen bed (mattress + frame), the SA advised that we qualify for Centrepoint's GSS giveaway promotion.
we lined up for the redemption and waited for at least half an hour till our turn.
yes, the queue was THAT long!

luckily i didn't buy any cookware at Courts in the morning because...
we managed to got ourselves a $10 Centrepoint voucher and one of the last two sets of WMF 3-piece cookware. hee haw!

happy that we have one load taken off our minds, we had an impromptu day trip to Kota Tinggi.
will blog about it shortly after my afternoon "recuperation nap".
till then!
