yesterday was good.

Will brought me to Geylang after work... to the reknowned Yonghe for supper!

had my favorite fried carrot cake (it's a different version from what u get from the hawkers');
his favorite or-ah-mee-sua (Taiwanese oyster vermicelli);
and our favorite tow-hway (sweetened bean-curd)!

no you-zhar-kway (fried dough fritters) coz it was a tad too oily for consumption at night. like duh, but whatever.


went for a spin n a stroll at Kallang whilst contemplating if i should have some desserts at Komala's but decided to head home for some well-deserved rest.

we were at Giant, Tampines for the second time in the week for the unfinished grocery purchases for the class BBQ this weekend.
to think i was just telling Soph, my life is getting overly-predictable!

after dinner, Will left for class n work so i planted myself comfortably in front of the computer n messed around with the features on Facebook again.
superpoking others n doing all sort of crappy stuff.. it was fun in a crappy way..

also being a Friday today, Aly just dated me...
it's always Friday. talk about predictability.

One evening last week, my girlfriend and I were getting into bed.

Well, the passion starts to heat up, and she eventually says, "I don't
feel like it, I just want you to hold me."

I said, "WHAT??!! What was that?!"

So she says the words that every boyfriend on the planet dreads to hear...

"You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for
me to satisfy your physical needs as a man."

She responded to my puzzled look by saying, "Can't you just love me for
who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom?"

Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night, I went to sleep.

The very next day I opted to take the day off of work to spend time with her. We went out to a nice lunch and then went shopping at a big, big unnamed department store. I walked around with her while she tried on several different very expensive outfits.

She couldn't decide which one to take, so I told her we'd just buy them all. She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said, "Let’s get a pair for each outfit." We went on to the jewellery department where she picked out a pair of diamond earrings.

Let me tell you... she was so excited.

She must have thought I was one wave short of a shipwreck.

I started to think she was testing me because she asked for a tennis racket when she doesn't even know how to play tennis. I think I threw her for a loop when I said, "That's fine, honey." She was almost nearing sexual satisfaction from all of the excitement.

Smiling with excited anticipation, she finally said, "I think this is
all dear, let's go to the cashier."

I could hardly contain myself when I blurted out, "No honey, I don't
feel like it."

Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled,
WHAT?"

I then said, "Honey! I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while.
You're just not in touch with my financial needs as a man enough for me
to satisfy your shopping needs as a woman."

And just when she had this look like she was going to kill me, I added,
"Why can't you just love me for who I am and not for the things I buy
you?"

Apparently I'm not having sex tonight either....but at least that girl
knows I'm smarter than her.

what in the XXXX?!

sleepless again.

i feel the urge to shit;
i feel the urge to vomit.
i think i feel both;
i think i'm allergic to work.

anyway, back to an comical event not-so-long-ago...
got a prezzie for NeuNeu (which was meant for the Anniversary),
but being extremely short-tempered,
i blew my top when he told me he has just bought a XXXX 2 weeks ago (of coz without knowing i also got one for him... it's called surprise mah).

what could be worse?

this...

if there were any detonators to my foul temper,
he hit it spot on.

me: "u always don't understand one la, u so *censored*"
him: he went on to promote its features thinking i scolded him coz i felt it wasn't a worthy buy.

me: "i don't want to talk to u. u don't understand one."
him: *futile efforts to explain* (not caught on records coz i wasn't even listening anymore)

me: "go away la. i don't like u."
him: "huh, why? what happened?"

me: "nothing la, nothing la." (typical, ain't it? or am i weird?)
him: "haiya, don't know what happened again. don't know what's wrong"

me: thinking to myself - "what again! give u surprise still say that of me. #@$%."
then my itchy mouth blurted: "then never mind lor, don't think u need the one i made since u already got one."
him: "got what?" (he totally forgot how it started... *shrugs*)

getting tired, i just told him i got a XXXX for him, same features but just different.
he was sweet to say "everything my dear dear get for me is special" but don't say it coz u think it'll make me feel better. it's REALLY different one, ok!

what the hell is the XXXX that these 2 people are fussing over?!

Friday / Saturday

thanx everyone for the care n concern on the recent gastric virus episode.

especially to Mommy for the days of porridge / noodles u made for me despite feeling so sick urself;
to Dad for ur incessant nagging on taking medicine;
to NeuNeu for rushing to n fro ending up with a sleepless night taking care of me (..or were u actually playing mobile games?!).

i'm feeling much better now,
but i need to be better to be able to go back to work tomorrow night.

friday was totally crappy.
apart from the times i was lying in bed wrapped like a sushi,
or crouching on the sofa wrapped like a popiah,
i was making runs to the toilet (ok, i'll spare u people the details).

late evening i had my feed of barley,
then turned in early despite having already slept most of the day away.


by today morning,
the fever's pretty much subsided;
still slightly nauseous;
but no more runs to the toilet.

yippee.
i'm claustrophic;
toilets makes me feel nervous.
i'm kidding.

breakfast/lunch consisted of mainly clear porridge,
NeuNeu had to finish up most of my food coz i still had poor appetite,
somehow my system still seems to be rejecting food,
the mouth still feels bland n tasteless...

headed for a little jalan at Geyland Serai,
nothing much over there plus the sun was scorching so we popped by City Plaza instead.
sadly, i didn't have much of an appetite for shopping either,
so we just went for the baking class instead.


baking was fun.
had our go at making chocolate brownies n tiramisu!

quite fuss-free,
so we'd probably give it a try at home soon,
place ur orders now for NeuBee (Newbie..?!) brownies n tiramisu, people!

the day ended with a visit to the newly-opened AMK hub,
followed by Giant @ Tampines.


alright, that's all for today.
time for meds before another round of nagging comes.

oh, did i mention my brother is going to Adelaide next wednesday?

i need to get my supply of oat milk n soya milk from the supermarket too

Blooper

unexpectatedly, i'm back at work.
the hefty price of cab-taking from home to office.
20 buckaroos meant my shift allowance is burnt.
the cabbie even asked if i take cab frequently n passed me his namecard.
hello, i'd be broke if i did that...

blardy tired but can't sleep a wink on the office couch.

wrapped up work in office n a last minute decision had me taking CC's lift to Gombak, whilst Eric headed to Kranji.

a mere 2hr sleep lasted me through:
1) NATAS at the Expo with Neu
2) Dinner at Bugis with Yongmei, Loh Wei n Neu
3) My journey home on the MRT


with an additional 1hr rest (thanx to VJ), i need to last through to the morning. counting down approximately 7hrs till i hit the sack.

the beautician's compliment of my well-maintained complexion wasn't enough to comfort the disturbed soul suffering from the embarrassment of stubborn redness on the face due to the extraction (crudely known as "squeezing").

we had to brave the odd stares down Orchard Road n into Hermes.

on Wednesday, the celebrated tenor Luciano Pavarotti passed away at the age of 71.

Pavarotti made history with appearance in La Bohème: in the 1977 inaugural Live from the Met telecast, conducted by James Levine, with soprano Renata Scotto as Mimì.

coincidentally on the same day, we caught Met's The Magic Flute.
the performance was brilliant.
the set, the choreography, the costumes, the orchestra conducted by James Levine and most importantly the singing.
Erika Miklosa was mesmerizing.

the next show that will be on screen is The First Emperor featuring Plácido Domingo, Pavarotti's best friend and rival.

Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti both made their debut at New York's Metropolitan Opera in 1968 and rose to become two of the world's most recognizable tenors.

one of my first impressions of the two came from The Three Tenors Concert at the opening of the 1990 World Cup in Rome, featuring Plácido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti and of course Jose Carreras.
