Kohepets

Custard's carrier, treats and toys have been delivered this morning by the very friendly folks from Kohepets.
yays.

but wait, her litter tray (ordered from Korea) is still on the way. yikes.

i guess i can only fetch her home next week.

-

down with flu and feeling extremely groggy on the meds, so i'll make this brief.

Custard's cage was delivered on Sunday, and i had it fixed up right away the next.

it really is huge - 3 deck complete with a little hammock. =)

because of its sheer size, i struggled a little when attaching the panels to form the foundation.

put through the other orders for the itty-bitty stuff - pet carrier, litter tray, scratch post, toys, eye/ear cleaning solution following that.
items are expected to be delivered by mid next week!
hopefully they'll be here earlier so i can fetch Custard home over the weekend.

that's all for now, i really gotta go catch some Zzz. so here's some pictures do the talking (more pictures and descriptions will be up later), g'nite!

CNY.

had a mad week of eatinggatheringgossiping.
here goes...

13 Feb
headed home straight after work to catch some rest.

managed to nap around 4 hours.
almost didn't want to wake up, but still had to drag my fatigued self out of bed, into the shower and over to his mom's place for our first reunion meal - an early dinner.

headed back to Mommy's afterwards and began our second round of eating.
that's 2 meals within a span of 2 hours!

cuddled in front of the TV after meal and caught the special program.
and, just before the countdown, we decided to head over to Loyang Tua Pek Kong temple for new year prayers. massive jam. spent the last moments of the new year in the car waiting for a lot to park.

headed home to Clementi after sending Mommy and Bro back.

14 Feb
as with every lunar new year, 初一 (first day) is always reserved for visiting relative from his dad's side.

his sis, JT, came by in the morning after church, and we headed off to Bukit Gombak for brunch, then set off to 大伯 & 伯娘's house.
and like every other year, 伯娘 made us 糖水 complete with red dates, gingko, lotus seeds and marigold petals (my fave!). sat around a bit before heading off to 姑妈's place for an early dinner.

姑妈 made us her usual sumptuous spread of stewed soup, fried chicken wings, ngoh hiang, and multiple vegetarian dishes. i was stuffed to the brim. totally.
it was also there, that i had my first ferrero rochers of the year (i couldn't stop eating them at every household i visited afterwards).

hung around a while then sent everyone to Bukit Gombak.
sat around some more, then sent everyone over to our house.
more sitting around (and viewing our wedding photos), then we sent 伯娘 home and headed to 三姨's place.

Poppy had his fill of mahjong while i stoned in the living room.
before i knew it, i dozed off for a good 3 hours or so. sent Mommy and Bro home, then we finally headed back to Clementi for that well-deserved sleep.

15 Feb
got up at noon. Poppy heated up the ngoh hiang he made, prepared ourselves and went over to 舅舅's place.
we were the first to be there. chatted with Popo and Gong Gong for a bit, and the rest started arriving. Poppy played a couple games of BlackJack. then we had a filling dinner and headed home, after sending Gong Gong back.

packed up a bit while waiting for the gurls to come over.
no silly hand-smacking games this year. instead we watched Russell Peters. didn't manage to finish the entire show, but even just the front bits almost rocked us off our chairs. yea, the non-revolutionary revolution - D.D.R.

Alex and Michelle also came by, and after the gurls left, we popped by Chinatown to see if the CNY fair was still on, then went to Mustaffa instead.
almost duped Poppy into buying a soft-toy kitty for me!

by the time we were home, it was around 3 am.
off to bed for a good long sleep! or so we thought...

16 Feb
about 6 hours into our sleep, we suddenly got a call - Gong Gong was in Clementi and he couldn't find our block! we had no idea why he appeared in our neighborhood. Poppy rushed over to fetch him over.

we then realized Gong Gong thought everyone was visiting Poppy's house in Clementi when it's actually supposed to be at Bukit Gombak. ok, i guess it IS confusing and will take some more time for everyone to get used to. Poppy changed, and sent Gong Gong over to his mom's place then fetched Godma over. i took my time and went over later in the afternoon by train.

the usual eating/gambling/gossiping took place.
it's been tiring for the past few days, and i had a terrible headache later that evening, and we went home shortly after everyone left.

Alex, Michelle, Yongmei and Loh Wei came by afterwards... and they decided to learn to make ngoh hiang from Poppy. so our entourage grabbed the ingredients from NTUC and worked in the kitchen till the meat rolls were ready. everyone was bushed.

p/s: i was checking the CWS webbie for updates and saw this extremely cute Siamese-cross breed kitty. i contacted the foster immediately and managed to make arrangements to visit the next day. yippie!

17 Feb
i could hardly sleep the previous night. random thoughts kept running into my mind, mostly wondering how the kitty can get along with me.

got up uber early, prepared and shook Poppy up from slumber.
headed off to Mrs Wong's and were amazed by the sheer number of cats she has in her home. there must've been at least 30 over cats! and they had 2 maids just to tend to all the little ones.

Mrs Wong was out when we were there, so we hung around a little and played with the cats. Coffee was shy and hid himself when we approached him. instead, a few other cats came and warm themselves up with us. one of them didn't hesitate to leap onto Poppy's laps while he sat on the teak chair. i went gaga just belly-rubbing the felines that approached me.

there was one particular cat who was very friendly and vocal. it kept mew-ing at me for chin-rubs, and hissed when i rubbed other kitties. LOL. i think it could be the one. i'll be back again next weekend, and if all is well, we'll bring it home. =)

anyhoos, the festivities continue.
we went by to fetch his mom, Godma and Godpa, and headed off to Loyang Tua Pek Kong temple again. waited for them to complete their prayers and photo-taking, then set off to Mommy's place.

chitter-chatter. we left around 10pm, and decided to pop by Sembawang God of Fortune temple so that i can 拜太岁 (offer my prayers to the Grand Duke). it all took around an hour and by the time we got home after sending him mom back, it was past midnight again.

the festivities have ended, for me.
work began the following night.

had a simple breakfast of Spinach Wonton Noodle, dropped by the hardware shop to get supplies to mesh our kitchen window (cat-safe) then went over to Pets Passion to inquire on cages, litter trays and whatnots.

had a catnap before Poppy sent me to office.

Pre-CNYE

to save u from seeing the same Out Of Town message when u check in, i've decide to blog.
*pats self on back*

after our return from BKK - our annual shoppaway trip, as with the loss of motivation to work, i've lost all motivation to blog. i guess the over-walking, over-shopping, over-eating didn't really help to make it much of a relaxation kinda trip. neither did the daily cheap Thai oil massages.

30 Jan
Alex and Michelle were super sweet to come by from Jurong to fetch us from the airport that day (we had an hour's flight delay) and ferry us to Baby Clarice's 1st birthday party at Aloha, Loyang.
Poppy and i were exhausted (and hungry) and we excused ourselves from the party shortly after with Alex, Michelle and Matthew... to Bedok for Bak Chor Mee!

the usual mad wait kept us hungrier (for at least 20 minutes). blah.
proceeded to Matthew's place for an hour or so, then headed back home to catch the Zee Monster.

31 Jan
knowing we're running short of time for CNY preparations, we arranged a family spending trip at Bugis/Waterloo street. Mommy stocked up on some essentials, then adjourned to OG Albert (i know it's SO oldschool) to buy Dad some clothes.

chanced upon this promoter selling a juicer/blender contraption at the entrance.
Poppy was so absorbed by the promoter's "speech".
Poppy and Mommy took turns to shoot him a few questions, exchanged approving nods, tada! off i went to the cashier. to pay for 2 spanking new units of U-Like blender.

googled for reviews afterwards and found that it was pretty popular with mommies for blending food for their weaning toddlers. not that i have a kid, of course. but i totally enjoy making juices and smoothies without having to clean up too much mess.

had a sumptuous family dinner at Tung Lok Signatures in Vivocity afterwards, followed by a little more shopping in the supermarket. then dropped our moms off before heading home for a well deserved rest.

i suffered from bad stomach the next few days.
too much "heat" must've accumulated during the Thailand trip. boo.

5 Feb
can't remember what we did for most part of the day, but we did end up in Jurong Point to catch 14 Blades with Alex and Michelle.

Poppy can never resist Donnie Yen on the big screen.
me? i'm a sucker for Audrey Tautou and Wong Kar Wai (also affectionately known as mr wong.).

6 Feb
GroceriesStockingUpDay. Work.
need i say more?

8/9 Feb
time flashed past.
spent 2 days multi-tasking between pre-CNY household chores, catching sleep, and watching movies at home.

caught It's Complicated (awesome stuff by Alec Baldwin and definitely Meryl Streep), I Hate Valentine's Day (blah) and part of Bride Wars (TBA).

and yes, we have received all the albums, gift cards, poster, frame and whatnots from Taiwan!
we love it all!
photos will be up after CNY, i hope.

10 Feb
Work.
but not before popping by Pets Fever.com in Clementi central to check on the prices of some supplies. *wink*

11 Feb
Work.
caught a short nap and woke up in the afternoon to help Poppy out with the making of Ngoh Hiong.
chop chop, peel peel, throw some temper then head back to sleep again.

Poppy made a grand total of 37 rolls to be given to relatives in substitute of the missing Lim Chee Guan Bah Kwa we swear by every year.

12 Feb
Work.
despite being the last day of work before my festive break, something major had to happen.
madness.

thankfully, PL stayed back for 2 - 3 hours to help out and Prabu lent a major helping hand by logging on to work from home. kudos to all!

now, hopefully the rest of the 2 hours remain peaceful.

knowing i'm on night shift, Poppy has been really sweet to apply a few days' leave to help out with the chores. and he's taken care of almost everything from sweeping, mopping, wiping of furniture and our semi-weekly load of laundry. nubbs.

guess that's all for now.
u probably won't see any updates till the 4-day break is over.
till then, have a Prosperous and Fulfilling Lunar New Year y'all!

...

ahhh, the laziness has gotten into me.
will be back soon with updates.
