Summarized

Tuesday
Neu came by to send me home after work then we hit the sack after breakfast at 445.
It's supposed to be a nice quiet afternoon since it's school holiday now and there's nobody in the school beside my house (except for the distant construction).

BUT
woke up by noon due to some renovation AGAIN, and that crazy tenant upstairs who picks up his/her skipping rope and start creating thumping noises

so we drove up to E! Hub in Pasir Ris for a bite. pathetically boring.
to make matters worse, the oyako don at food court was horrible.

and when we thought it couldn't get any worse... it started raining.

got home and i napped half hour before dinner while he does his revision.

Neu dropped me off at interchange afterwards and he makes his way to class.

Wednesday
to avoid all the disturbances to my sleep, Neu's supposed fetching me to his place and then send me home in the evening when he goes for class.

BUT
he overslept.
so i fought my way through the office crowd on the public transport.
arriving at his gates, he greeted me a chirpy "Good Morning!"
and my bitter response was "What's so good about the morning?!"

despite the special efforts to avoid all disruption, i STILL woke up by noon.
this time by hunger.
by then he has already happily devoured the last bits of the Hor Fun his mom made, even though she already told him to leave some for me.
NOT FAIR. AUNTIE, I WANT TO COMPLAIN!

he attempted to make it up by cooking maggie mee for me.
though it wasn't frequent that he fails. but he did.
shan't go into too much details otherwise i'll be strangled when he finds out.

helped Glenneth with his homework a little then prepped to leave.

had a bite at Temasek Poly's business canteen.
nostalgic. it's been ages since i last ate there.
later on, he planted himself in a cosy spot in the library and started revision while i scoured for my books.
nostalgic. i remember hiding in the depths of the library and study rooms during my days.

those were the days.
getting out of point, ain't i?

oh well.
dropped by the clinic today to make appointment for my cholesterol test tomorrow morning, as well as got a referral letter to CGH's ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) specialist.
cumbersome stuff.

i'm expected to fast from tonight till the morning.
but hunger got the better of me.
i conveniently popped a Bailey's chocolate on my way back from the toilet.
still trying to convince myself it won't affect the results of the test.
aarggh. maybe i should just reschedule.

let me sleep over it for now.
goodabyes.

Update

to make my dear readers' life (as well as mine) easier,
i've summarized the past few days' events.
i can see u nodding ur heads dubiously whilst mumbling 'Ya right's under ur breaths

my memory's slipping past me of late,
and this post has been sitting in the drafts folder for a couple of days already.
perhaps because i've got a ton of other (important and non-important) things on my mind.

anyway, here goes...

Thursday
Went to East Point after our night shifts
Had K-Lunch at Hougang Mall followed by a game of billard
- skipped furniture store and Hello Kitty shop downstairs coz we were both bushed after staying awake for almost 24 hours
SLEEP!
Had our dinners together at home before he left
Met my brother to attend our neighbour's funeral wake at the void deck
Bro went out, I hogged computer for viwawa

Friday
Woke up around noon
Went to the Food Expo with Mommy
Returned home and we decided to attempt making Yam Paste 芋泥 (Orh Nee)
- Not too bad except that it was a little sweet
Neu came by after class to try

Sunday
Met Neu, his mom, Ah Po and Gong Gong at Waterloo Street
Had lunch at the hawker's after prayers
Shopped around for some dried produce, clothes
- i bought walnuts and 8-treasure porridge (i'll try cooking them this weekend)
Sent his grandparents home after a little more walking

Had our dinners at Bukit Batok
Went on to send his mom home
Finally sending me to work before he goes to work himself

Monday
JB after our night shifts!
Totally soaked while i was waiting at the bus stop for him to knock off
- feeling a little sick now already
Had our brunches and got some groceries
Heavy traffic to and fro,
arriving home around 1.30pm
Knock out till dinner time at 4.30pm

Back at work now~

NeuNeu has been extremely nice recently, driving me to and from work on most days, and spending more time together...
*slumps into a state of bliss*

anyway i'm a little into cooking recently.
so many things i want to make!!
pity, we don't have an oven at home otherwise Mommy and I can bake.

Ta Daaa!

and finally

here's a shot of my new hair
not very clear though (fortunately, hah!)

May 19, 2008

Just in case u're still wondering...

for the benefit of those who haven't seen the haircut i had back then.

here's a striking resemblance of what it looks like...

This Week...

back at work.
yes, laugh all u can, Hoochie.

finally settled down to blog after surfing for 4 hours straight.
i just can't get enough of flickr, clubsnap, lomotion sites.
it's dope.
once i start, it gets out of control. a page leads to another.

dang, prices of the polaroids rise (yet again)!
just a week after getting 18 packs, it upped by another 3 bucks.
it has increased by almost double in less than 2 months.

tsk tsk.
what if the discontinuation is just a publicity stunt?

anyway, i didn't manage to find the Fuji mini cammies or the Solaris film on Friday either.
ended up randomly scouring through Peninsular as a consolation for our dejected souls.

ho hum.

THURSDAY
NeuNeu and i went to JB again.

had Lok-Lok for dinner. yay.
and now i know...
the uncle opens for business around 7pm.

we ate LOTZ!

SATURDAY
had my hair cut!
for those of u who've seen the haircut i had last year, u can easily imagine what i look like now.

some may think i look like a dork, but i don't care.
NeuNeu says i look sexy.
haha.
i wonder if that's a consolation.

NeuNeu headed down to Bugis at the eleventh hour to meet me because my appointment ended unexpectedly early.
and we bought a watch each!
not those couple-couple type of watches. we got different designs.
shopped around the area, then met up with Vincent, Alex, Jason at TCC for a cuppa at Bugis, before we set off to have steamboat buffet when Elvin arrived.

having grown up in the luncheon-meat-goes-well-with-everything era, we, the luncheon meat deprived people stuffed ourselves silly with the now extinct if not overpriced item (while reminiscing how it goes well with Nasi Lemak, Fried Bee Hoon, Bread and everything else).

the rest of 'em decided to hit the arcade for a round of Daytona afterward, while NeuNeu and i headed to Suntec City prior to going home for mahjong.

and just before we parted...

Alex: u know how play Daytona meh?
(with a tinge of sarcasm)
me: yea, i can if u don't want to have ur car back in one piece
(and i whip out Alex's car key that was kept in my bag)
Alex: *gulp*

SUNDAY
mahjong ended around 3am.

we slept late and woke up really late as well.

procrastinated a little before finally leaving the house for Jurong to pick Ah Po & Gong Gong up for dinner at Lorong Sarhad.
no more yam paste, yet again.
boo.

drove by Labrador Park for a short stroll and some cool breeze after our meal.
it's really nice to chat with Ah Po & Gong Gong
though i'm sometimes left clueless when they start to converse in Hakka

off-topic but...

i need a picnic real soon!
i want to frolic in the breeze with the mosquitoes and flies delicious goodies...

Last Day at Work

don't jump into conclusions la.
it's the last day of work for this week.

LOL.

just finished the supper delivered by NeuNeu after class on his way to work.
so nice of him, isn't it?

had nuggets, french fries, hot fudge sundae and ice lemon tea!

haven't had much time to make plans for my 25th year on earth since the year started.

i've stopped and thought through a little these few days and came up with some short-term plans..

i need...

1) full medical checkup
- wide range available from various healthcare providers,
- prices range between SGD 200 - SGD 1000 odd.
any recommendations?

2) relook at my financial plans

- working towards a different phase in life
arranged to speak to my financial consultant this week.

3) work harder at my hobby
- look harder for expired and/or toy film
please let me know
if u know where i can get Solaris/Ferrania color print film and/or expired film (all in 135 format aka 35mm)
- decide if i want to get the limited edition Fuji Yone x Cheki Instax Mini Box-Set

pictures taken off
http://www.lomography.com/

I LOVE FAFI.
but the price tag always make me hesitate plus i'm really not a huge fan of Yone's works.
aaarghh, i can't decide!

i'll visit Mustafa again this week with Hoochie.
seems like he's going to buy a Holga before he goes to Sydney
although he also said he wants to get a Nikon D3, Hasselblad 503CW, Fuji Yone x Cheki...

i'm falling to the dark side and...
Hoochie says "it's dark down here but u're not alone."
yea, i can picture Hoochie, Tien Yong, Joshua, Zhao Kun, Lai Teck all in line with their polaroids beckoning me to hop on the bandwagon.

Wonderful Days

we woke up rather late (because we were out till late the night before), hence decided to have our lunch at Jurong West and head over directly to NeuNeu uncle's place for the annual Mother's Day celebration.

the nice food stalls Liz recommended were both closed, so all of us had the Pontian wanton noodles instead.
also, i ordered soya bean milk with almond syrup... much to NeuNeu's surprise as i've never been a fan of soya bean milk.
it turned out pretty good, and there wasn't much of a soy-ish taste. hah.

bumped into Ah Po at the void deck with an old friend, so we hung out there a little for a little chitter-chatter.
the eating lasted around 2 hours and ended just in time for me to leave for work.
NeuNeu sent his mom, grandparents and aunt home before dropping me at office, and back to uncle's house for mahjong.

and here i am back at work.
oh bummer.

anyways, we visited the TP - Terrible Place (Traffic Police) on Saturday morning after NeuNeu knocked off.
after the usual long wait, blah blah blah, we had our late breakfast at Beach Road Market.

then, he drove up to the new Kallang Leisure Park.
being a klutz at directions, it isn't difficult to have these little surprises without blindfolding me because i can look straight into the road sign without realizing where i am anyway!

anyway the initial plan was to just take a look and walk around a little.

but there aren't many shops at all!
and the crowd was pretty scarce for a weekend.

we decided to give the Kallang Bowl and Kallang Ice World a miss, and we didn't see any nice films at the cinema (Film Garde), so we continued to wander up to the 4th storey where we spotted KBox.
so there we had the second KTV session of the week.

headed home for some good rest afterwards, before we had dinner and set of to JB in the evening.
it was already midnight when we finally got past the customs.
obviously no shops were open at that time, so we settled for supper at Taman Sentosa.

and just before we returned, we tried the
Lok-Lok.
i'm too lazy to take pictures these days, so here's a few which i got off the web.

for those who aren't sure what that is..
Lok Lok is a cuisine usually peddled on a van or push-cart.

u get to choose from a variety of traditional skewered fresh food - from the usual fishballs, quail eggs, sausages to the more exotic stuff like clams, animal innards and duck's feet etc.

in short, it's like yong tau hoo-cum-steamboat on wheels..
the printed words on the van also says they cater for parties as well (but i suppose that's only limited to the local territories).

a quick guide to eatting from a Lok-Lok stall
(or van, for that matter):

1. dip ur pick into boiling water
(also, u can get the uncle to grill or deep-fry ur choice)
2. pair it off with the different sauces available - chili, ketchup, satay, plum or sweet sauce
3. gobble it up before while its hot!

the van stops just outside the Taman Sentosa Market and operates till around 12 midnight.
i forgot to ask what time he starts though. oops.
well, do pop by for a few sticks if u happen to be in the area.

my guess is after reading all these talk about food, Nick will chiong there over the weekend with Mervin and Stanley.
herhrr.

alright, that's all for now.
g'nite folks.

The Color of my Sky is... Grey

my mind is too grey today for the blue blue skies.

May 01, 2008

My Day...

met Aly for breakfast after work yesterday.

supposed to go for IKEA or Cafe Cartel's breakfast but both weren't open yet so we ended up at Han's.
munchie munchie chattie chattie.
headed home to catch my sleep after we got some stuff from NTUC.

had an appointment at 3.30pm but the darn phone died on me.

bah.

so i stayed home, had my dinner and made *special* sandwiches for NeuNeu.
was supposed to give him a surprise by leaving the lunchbox on his car while he was in class, but i couldn't locate his car so i ended up waiting at the 2nd storey and called him when i saw the policemen leaving the premises.
._."

for today, i stayed in bed while the boys (Neu & Bro) went for their morning jog.
NeuNeu did wake me up and asked that i join them but i had a restless night with lots of weird dreams...
plus the self-awareness that i CMI (cannot make it) when it comes to sports, especially running
.
and so i only woke up when they returned with my breakfast.
NeuNeu bought me a plaster!
once again, it's not that bandage plaster but that prata plaster, alright?

soon after, Dad started preparing to PAINT MY ROOM!
i moved some of the stuff out of the way, then Neu helped to touch up the corners and they were done within the hour.
there's
still a wee bit of paint smell lingering.

my room is now is peachy-pink.
Bro thinks i should've outgrown the pink-loving stage.
whatever.

they started their game of mahjong and i tidied up the room a little, then went online playing Ikariam and Viwawa.
supposed to go to Mustafa with Hoochie today but decided not to because it's public holiday and it's probably gonna be way too crowded.

spent the rest of my Labor Day watching Hito music awards on CableTV, then more Ikariam and Viwawa.
ho hum.
