26.04.2007 - 30.04.2007 Bangkok

we're back.
second day back in the office already.
yea, u heard me right.

"DAY"

it's been like 3 months since i've last woke up at 5am, scramble in the darkness, scurrying in madness to the bus stop standing at least 1km away.

thankfully i have NeuNeu accompanying me these two days. think "u'll never walk alone" a la mode de Liverpool. speaking of which, family n friends (nasty ones) have been sharing with, or rather taunting, me news of Liverpool thrashing Chelsea.

disclaimer: i already made myself clear i support Chelsea morally but the bets go to Liverpool, not that i bet anyway. besides the wager i had with NeuNeu over lunch, i had clean forgotten about it. so do not come hampering me for treats.

back to the subject on Bangkok (BKK). first couple of days were designated for sightseeing. after umpteen visits to BKK, yet this is the first time i am actually touring the place. popped by places like Wat Pho, Wat Arun, Erawan Shrine, Shrine of Tubtim, Jim Thompson House etc, definitely not forgetting lots of shopping in the malls, weekend markets, wholesale markets.

we highly recommend Shanghai Inn, situated in the heart of Yaowaraj (Chinatown), should u decide to visit n stayover in BKK. other than the restaurant renowned sharks fin n bird's nest, other highlights within Chinatown include Sampeng lane, Pahurat textile market, the covered market lane between Ratchawong n Mahachak Roads.

The Roadside Stall Patronu could also patronize one of the roadside stalls, like we did, for dinner.

i was forced to, initially. i was pretty much against eating along the roadside. just imagine the amount of dirt n dust flying all over when vehicles zoom past. being the typical pampered hygiene freak bundled with the throat inflammation n cough brought over from Singapore, i showed him a black face throughout.

look at him, he can still wolf down all the seafood!
it's easy to see why diet books hardly make it to the bestsellers in Singapore.

enough for today.
check back shortly for the pictures.
