watched Love's Lone Flower 孤戀花 with mr hu last night

the costumes, set n fresh perspective of taiwan in the 60s are laudable
not forgetting 李心潔 's singing n 袁詠儀 's take on the perplexed mamasan

but still it wasn't a really pleasant one for me..
had an overdose of homosexual movies within the year

- Brokeback Mountain
- Imagine Me & You
- Love's Lone Flower

i kept whining about the intimate scenes, smoking scenes, morphine injection scenes, lastly the gore murder scene n the scenes with the awful taiwanese-mixed-japanese music (no offense, but i just find them a tat too similar to funeral band)


i was practically whining the whole time
well yes, except for those featuring my favorite shanghai-glam 40s scene
who could ever resist the kind of glamorous nightlife offered in china's most prosperous city at the time?


was telling mr hu, how often i wished i lived in that era despite knowing those good times were never made to last
