Team Building @ Sentosa

had our team building event in Sentosa yesterday with our colleagues from Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney and Singapore.

madness but totally awesome.

as if my 2-hour Yoga workout the day before wasn't enough to break my limbs, the 3 rounds of Laser Shootout (approx 3 hours in total) - strategizing; running; hiding; mad shooting, sure as hell did.

apart from Raf's minor accident where he fractured his arm, everyone else completed the game safely... but were all VERY tired.

Robert, Joyce and me shared a cab home to wash up, whilst some of the guys headed back to the hotels and the others hung around Sentosa/Vivocity for a bit.

met up again in the evening at Bosses Restaurant in Vivocity for our dinner.

it spotted this extremely dark, classy and cool interior, thus giving it the name 黑社會 (literally Black Society aka Secret Society/Mafia in Mandarin)

we all agree that the food was pretty good. the bill came up to $1200-odd for our tables of 22.

considering the amount of beer the guys downed, i should think it's pretty reasonably priced.

some of their items didn't really impress me, there was this red-ish looking fatty pork that tasted a little odd =S

anyhoos, i love their Szechuan Grilled Crispy Duck, Mango Pomelo Sago and their Signature Custard Bun (with yummy salted egg custard fillings).

'nuff said for now.

UPs and DOWNs

back at work after a week's break.

plagued by gastric flu, and my computer went up and down at the same time.

i'd plow my fields in the morning, and my cranky computer won't let me harvest on time at night.

so apart from spending most of the week smothered in bed, the other half of the time i was whining and weeping away. too bored. literally bored to tears.

all of a sudden, Mr Wabbit lost his appeal as a talking buddy. reads: i need new toys.

anyhoos, during the day, Poppy was busy at work, and when he's home, he whiled his time away in front of the telly.

some days, i just sit myself in front of the dang machine, trying to power cycle, discharge and restart.

on the better days, i'd keep myself occupied in the kitchen.

oh, his gramps came over for dinner on one of the days, and thank God, my cooking passed their "taste-test".

and last weekend, when i was almost back to my bouncy + chirpy self, Poppy gave me a treat at Ah Yat Seafood Restaurant in Turf City to answer my craving for Salted Egg Crabs.

our 3rd time there, if i remember correctly.

so, we had a sumptuous meal of Ah Yat Signature Fried Rice + Abalone Mushroom + Salted Egg Crabs.

wrapped up, headed off to Giant to buy some groceries and went home.

got up early the next morning for a jog (although i walked more than i jogged)

in any case... that was 4.8Km excluding the distance from my house to the Park Connector.

i think that walk should've still burnt a good amount of calories.

breakfast was my usual oat + soy milk combination.

afterwards we went to SPCA to check out some kitties. woohoo.

there wasn't a lot of 'em there, not that i was intending to pick one up immediately.

on our way to Mommy's place, Poppy tried to dissuade, discourage, disagree with me keeping a kitty.

OBJECTION OVERULED.

can't remember what happened the rest of the day. probably more lazing around.

i only remember for today's brekkie, i just giap-ed a slice of Reese Peanut Butter Cup in a slice of bread. yummy. ok, that's too random.

tonight i chalked up another USD300+ on sprees.

when Shan returns, it's another USD300 - 400 for the Coach stuff.

i think i'm overdoing it. SOMEBODY, STOP ME (in agonizing voice).

then again, the advantage is ~~because of the HUMONGOUS amount of expenditure i chalked on my UOB Lady's card~~ i get to redeem some rewards, and i told Poppy i'll get the Tung Lok vouchers so we can go to Tung Lok Seafood, Shin Yeh or Zhou's Kitchen again. whee~

i totally hear only the good things

Random

most parts of the "New Phase of Life" has been settled including:

moving in/settling like down in the new house;
taking our pre-wedding photos;
making the first preparations for the wedding next year such as:
- getting auspicious date/time(s)
- coming up with a draft guest list,
- making reservations for venue,
- we're almost settled on the actual day gown/suit + car rental

now comes my favorite part and the biggest headache,

The ~~Moneymoon~~ Honeymoon

as some of u already know, we've set our sights on a 2 - 3week India-Nepal-Tibet tour, and i've started doing some research on it. however, so far it seems local agencies don't provide anything that covers all three areas in one.
and if i were to do a F&E... man, i don't really want to think about it. so much work to do.

lest Plan A doesn't work out, i asked Poppy if there's anywhere else he has in mind, say Russia, Egypt or Africa.
he's obviously not keen in those. anyhoos, so he suggested:

Europe
me: "Next please"

Japan
me: "Blah."

Korea
me: "Erm.."

just when i thought this is not gonna work out
am i too demanding?

he said...

Hawaii
me: "!!"

why didn't i think of that? Hawaii, i like!
and so, we have a Plan B. mwahahahaha.

a quick check and i already found quite a few West Coast + Hawaii packages.
most of them are about 10 - 12 days. methinks it's a tad too short for a honeymoon until i chanced upon this paragraph in one of the agencies' itinerary:
"Enjoy incredible saving with designer and brand name manufacturers such as COACH, GUESS, POLO RALPH LAUREN, REEBOK, selling direct to you."

given that i can shop my guts out in Los Angeles... anything goes!

Toosday is Happy Day

ended Monday with dinner made by me, a short trip to Ikea to buy me a good full-length mirror, making snacks for the next day and followed by supper of sausages + Heineken by the telly.

slept in REAL late on Tuesday. woke up just before noon, briefly prepared and headed off!
under the sweltering heat, we managed to walk from Siloso over to Palawan beach. got ourselves some "Classique" ice-cream from Movenpick and hung around a bit before catching the tram back to our car and out of the island. too blardy hot.

we hopped by JB to check on the prices of WII (wheeee~ WII), grabbed some snacks, had his car washed and fed (with petrol of coz) and set off to Ah Po's place. chit-chat and caught up a little then we proceeded with the day's special.

it came as a total surprise when Poppy asked if i'm ok for it.
I'M MORE THAN OKAY CAN.

we saw some very active nocturnal animals and my favorite was the Flying Squirrels.
there's this free-flying area where we saw these cuties feeding on fruits, but really didn't see them "fly". and just when we were about to step out, one of them actually glided down from the tree and hit the lady just beside me. (visualize the female Flying Squirrel in Ice Age 3 or see pictures of imaginary Super Squirrels below).

Poppy says if i hadn't stopped in the middle of the trail, she'd probably have walked off and i'd be the one who got hit inside. oops. but still sibei exciting!

alrighty, i really should hit the sack now.
Mr Ma has successfully kept me away from the computer for the entire Tuesday.
yes, i'm on compooter & interwebs rehab now.

ps: i've received the dress from BonitoChico in the mail. yippee!

Chop Chop Curry Pok!

the last hour of my 4-night stint. another 4 nights next week.

to reward myself for the 4 OTs i clocked in the last couple of months, i got this from BonitoChico on Thursday's launch.

the dress i've been looking for all this while (but in a different material).

i got my bro & Mary to help me find while the were in Bangkok on 2 different occasions, and i myself tried looking for it when i was in Taipei. die-die must buy.

luckily i manage to stop myself from getting that belt too.

Saetin's 4th collection should be launched next week.

ever since my first purchase, i'm in love with the stuff! i've decided to tie myself against the toilet bowl so that i won't succumb to temptations.

maybe not. i'm sure a peek is harmless.

the lack of entries recently, is because erm.. i've been busy with eating...

organized a steamboat session at our place with Liz, Wei, Vince, QL, Angie, Zen & Poppy;

had a sumptuous buffet dinner at Zhou's Kitchen with Liz & Wei;

a week's inevitable binging in Taipei (we continued snacking non-stop on the TYBs and pastries we brought back);

BBQ at my bro's chalet for his 21st birthday;

another steamboat session at our place with HH, Tommy & Poppy;

Piccolo brekkie the following day with ST and LG;

Rite Pizza with KF at work;

dinner at Tampopo with Poppy on Tuesday (i love their Tonkatsu Ramen!!!);

various deliveries and takeaways from fast food chains;

and lastly homemade dinner by Poppy yesterday evening <3

plus a double cheeseburger & one last TYB for supper =P

if i don't grow fat by CNY,

i will proceed with more extreme eating plans!

on a different note altogether, i'm sort of contemplating about the KL & Genting road trip.

although it's gonna be nice to go on the trip with all the familiar faces but Genting is SO not my type of place. and it's about the same price as a trip to Bangkok, Batam even Bintan.

plus, now that our trusty HR manager has left, roster-man is on reservist and my boss is leaving us in a few days' time, i don't even know if i can get the approval for leave anytime soon.

aargh, anyway it's time to harvest my crops on Country Story.

i'm SO looking forward to Poppy's homemade lunch later.
